Why the Glanza V is special
The big attraction is the 4E-FTE turbo engine. Because the Starlet is so light, around one tonne, the ~99 kW output gives it a very good power-to-weight ratio.
It’s a small car with a surprisingly lively character:

🏁 Performance
Toyota designed the Glanza V as the sportier turbo version of the EP91 Starlet. It was essentially a pocket-sized performance hatch.
The 4E-FTE is also well known in the Toyota tuning scene. With appropriate supporting modifications, these engines can make substantially more power than factory specification.

Exceed Selecto refers to a higher-grade/special equipment specification rather than being a completely different engine model. The important part for enthusiasts is the Glanza V designation, which identifies the turbocharged performance model.
